Shelby & Grant | Herington, KS Wedding

June 17, 2018  •  2 Comments

Shelby and Grant's wedding day was on Friday, June 1st and they celebrated with quite the party! It was a fun day hanging out with them and their friends and family.  I got to take their engagement pictures back in February and it was the coldest day of the year and then fast forward to their wedding and it was like the hottest day of the year so far.  There was definitely quite the difference in temperatures from engagement pictures to wedding!

The day started off in Herington, KS at Hair Impressions where I met Shelby as she was getting her hair done. I arrived just as things were getting underway. Afterwards, we headed to the church so Shelby could get dressed and get ready for her first look with Grant happening shortly.

At Shelby and Grant's first look, Grant's face lite up with a BIG smile on his face when he turned around and saw his bride to be and then they went into each others arms for a big hug.  It was such a sweet moment! :)

Right after their first look we stayed outside to take some pictures of just the bride and groom.  We tried to stay in the shade as much as possible since it was so warm.  They handled the heat extremely well though, even if we had to have a couple of breaks to wipe the sweat off of their faces.

Their ceremony was indoors at St. John Catholic Church.  It was a beautiful ceremony as they were surrounded by so many friends and family who wanted to celebrate their big day!

After the wedding, Shelby and Grant exited from the church while guests blew bubbles at them as they made their way to their ride, which was a bright red antique GMC pick-up that had hay bales on the back for Shelby and Grant and their wedding party to ride in.  It was such a fun ride!

Shelby and Grant--Thank You so much for trusting me to capture your wedding day and engagement pictures! I had a blast taking both of them! Thank you for your fun attitudes and energy! You guys are such fun people to be around and you have lots of people that care for you guys very much!  I wish you guys the best of luck as you guys embark on this new chapter as husband and wife! :)

Hollie and Edwin's wedding day was on Friday May 18th in Lawerence, Kansas. I had a fun time getting to take pictures of them for a few hours.  Hollie and Edwin had been at another wedding that I had photographed the summer before and after the wedding I got an email from Hollie saying she really liked the pictures I took and asked if I'd come and photograph their wedding day for a few hours.  I was delighted to come and be apart of their wedding day for a few hours.

At Hollie and Edwin's first look, Edwin was nervous, but super excited to see his bride-to-be. His face lite up with a huge smile on his face when he turned around and saw his soon-to-be wife.

After their first look we ventured further outside and tried to find some shade as the sun was shining pretty brightly so it was a little warm. Hollie and Edwin handled the heat like champs.

Their ceremony was at Corpus Christi Catholic in Lawerence. It was a beautiful ceremony as they were surrounded by loved ones.

Hollie and Edwin--Thank You so much for contacting me and asking me and trusting me to take your wedding photos! I had a blast taking them! Thank you for your positive attitudes and fun energy! You guys were such fun people to be around and you are surrounded by people that care for you guys very much!  I wish you guys the best of luck as you guys embark on this new chapter as husband and wife! :)

Natalie & Louis | Manhattan, KS Wedding

On Natalie and Louis' wedding day the sun didn't shine and it rained for most of the day, but that wasn't going to stop them from celebrating their special day! It was a fun day hanging out with them and their friends and family, even if we did get a little wet! :)  Their wedding ceremony was at St. Isidore's and there reception followed shortly after at the Legion here in town.

The day started off in Manhattan at The Hampton Inn where her and her bridesmaids were going to be getting their hair and make-up done. I arrived just as things were getting underway. The morning was spent getting all ready to go for the wedding which would happen in a few hours.

At Natalie  and Louis' first look, Louis had a big grin on his face has he turned around to see his bride-to-be.  They shared a sweet embrace after that and then Natalie took a step back so Louis could take another look at this bride.

After their first look we ventured outside, but not to far since it was raining.  Luckily the church had a nice little awning for Natalie and Louis to stand under so they could stay dry, while I ventured out into the rain and got some pictures.  It wasn't raining too hard, so don't feel too sorry for me! :) It was a pretty nice day weather wise besides the fact that it was raining/misting for most of the day.

After the wedding, Natalie, Louis and I went to the Kansas State Gardens to get some more pictures.  It was still lightly raining/misting at this point, but we were determined to get some great pictures and that we did!  I have had a clear umbrella that I have been waiting use for over a year now and I was excited that I was finally going to be able to use it! Every other wedding I'd had that said it was going to rain; it never ended up raining.  I had a good time exploring the gardens with them and getting to take a few pictures with the umbrella as well!

After pictures we headed to their reception where their friends and family were waiting for them to arrive.  Their reception was a fun affair.  Around sunset, I stole Natalie and Louis away for a little bit, as it had stopped raining at this point, to get a few sunset pictures.  There wasn't much for a sunset that evening, but we made it work and got some good pictures.

Natalie and Louis--Thank You for trusting me to capture your wedding day and engagement pictures! I had fun getting to know you and being able to take photos for you guys! Thank you for your go with the flow attitudes even if it wasn't ideal to have it raining almost the entire day on your wedding! You guys are such fun people to be around and you have lots of people that care for you guys very much!  I wish you guys the best of luck as you guys embark on this new chapter as husband and wife! :)

                                                         xoxo,

Dustina and Cord | Nelson Family Farm | Olsburg, KS Wedding

Dustina and Cord's wedding day was on Cinco de Mayo, and they celebrated with quite the party! It was a fun day hanging out with them and their friends and family.  Their wedding was at the Nelson Family farm in Olsburg, Kansas which is a beautiful place to get married; I've had the opportunity to shoot a wedding there before and I was excited to get to go back!

The day started off in Manhattan at Dustina's apartment where her and her bridesmaids, flower girl and more were going to be getting their hair and make-up done. I arrived just as things were getting underway. The morning was spent getting all dolled up, while Moana played on the TV in the background--a great movie to watch before walking down the aisle! :)

At Dustina and Cord's first look, Cord's face lite up with a huge smile on his face when he turned around and saw his bride to be.  Dustina's smile at Cord was just as big as they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day.

After their first look we ventured further outside and tried to find some shade as it was a tad warm.  They handled the heat like champs even though there was a few times we had to wipe off sweat. After taking a few pictures we headed back inside the barn to cool off a bit before the ceremony.

Their ceremony was outdoors just a few hundred feet from the barn where the reception was going to be held.  It was a beautiful ceremony as they were surrounded by loved ones.

After the wedding, Dustina and Cord greeted their guests as they made their way up to the barn for the reception to start.  After greeting their guests, Dustina and Cord sneak away with me for a little big longer to get a few more pictures with their wedding party before the reception started.

Their reception was a fun affair! Since it was Cinco de Mayo, they had margaritas served and they even had lawn games outside for guests to play as it ended up being a perfect May evening.  Around sunset, I stole Dustina and Cord away again for a little bit so we could get a few sunset pictures before they would be dancing the night away with their friends and family!

Dustina and Cord--Thank You for trusting me to capture your wedding day and engagement pictures! I had a blast taking both of them! Thank you for your positive attitudes and fun energy! You guys are such fun people to be around and you have lots of people that care for you guys very much!  I wish you guys the best of luck as you guys embark on this new chapter as husband and wife! :)

Shawna & Andy | St. Andrews Golf Club | Overland Park, Kansas Wedding

April 16, 2018  •  Leave a Comment

Shawna and Andy's wedding day was absolutely BEAUTIFUL, from the little details to the big details it was such a privilege to be apart of it.

The day started off in Overland Park at Shawna's parents house where Shawna and her bridesmaids were getting their hair and make-up done. I arrived just as the hair was getting underway and breakfast was getting set out. It was a sweet time getting to watch them hangout and interact as friends.

At Shawna and Andy's first look, Andy's reaction was to sweetly embrace and kiss his bride-to-be with a big smile on his face!  Then they took a few minutes for themselves to take it all in--they were getting married in a few short hours!

After their first look we ventured outside even though the weather was in the low 30s even though spring had technically begun two and a half weeks ago--it sure didn't feel like spring! It was a little chilly, but they ROCKED it!

Their ceremony was a great example of how we are supposed to live a life for Christ and spread his love wherever we go.  Their wedding day wasn't just about them getting married, but it was about giving glory to the One who created them, the One who is love and what a great way to start a marriage.

After the two were pronounced one, their guests headed to St. Andrew's Golf Club as Mr. and Mrs. Cole took a few more pictures inside, this time around as it was still pretty chilly outside before they headed out to enjoy their reception with their friends and family.

Their reception was beautiful!  Each table had their own decorated cake that you picked where you wanted to sit by what flavor of cake you wanted or you'd have to make some friends and see if they would share. During the reception it did warm up into the mid forties and so right before Andy and Shawna were going to be sent off we snuck outside and took a few more portraits; which I'm so glad we did--they turned out wonderful!

Shawna and Andy--Thank You for trusting me to capture your wedding day and engagement pictures! I had a blast taking both of them! Thank you for your go with the flow attitudes when I'm pretty sure you didn't think it was going to be a high of 45 on your wedding day in April! You guys are such fun people to be around and I am excited to see what big things God does in your life!  Best of luck as you guys embark on this new chapter as husband and wife! :)
