Shawna and Andy's wedding day was absolutely BEAUTIFUL, from the little details to the big details it was such a privilege to be apart of it.
The day started off in Overland Park at Shawna's parents house where Shawna and her bridesmaids were getting their hair and make-up done. I arrived just as the hair was getting underway and breakfast was getting set out. It was a sweet time getting to watch them hangout and interact as friends.
At Shawna and Andy's first look, Andy's reaction was to sweetly embrace and kiss his bride-to-be with a big smile on his face! Then they took a few minutes for themselves to take it all in--they were getting married in a few short hours!
After their first look we ventured outside even though the weather was in the low 30s even though spring had technically begun two and a half weeks ago--it sure didn't feel like spring! It was a little chilly, but they ROCKED it!
Their ceremony was a great example of how we are supposed to live a life for Christ and spread his love wherever we go. Their wedding day wasn't just about them getting married, but it was about giving glory to the One who created them, the One who is love and what a great way to start a marriage.
After the two were pronounced one, their guests headed to St. Andrew's Golf Club as Mr. and Mrs. Cole took a few more pictures inside, this time around as it was still pretty chilly outside before they headed out to enjoy their reception with their friends and family.
Their reception was beautiful! Each table had their own decorated cake that you picked where you wanted to sit by what flavor of cake you wanted or you'd have to make some friends and see if they would share. During the reception it did warm up into the mid forties and so right before Andy and Shawna were going to be sent off we snuck outside and took a few more portraits; which I'm so glad we did--they turned out wonderful!
Shawna and Andy--Thank You for trusting me to capture your wedding day and engagement pictures! I had a blast taking both of them! Thank you for your go with the flow attitudes when I'm pretty sure you didn't think it was going to be a high of 45 on your wedding day in April! You guys are such fun people to be around and I am excited to see what big things God does in your life! Best of luck as you guys embark on this new chapter as husband and wife! :)
I met Shawna and Andy at the Great Plains Nature Center in Wichita, Kansas on the second day of fall, although it definitely didn't feel like fall as it was pretty warm outside. They were troopers though as we did a little bit of walking while we took pictures. After we were done taken pictures there we headed to Keeper of the Plains to take a few more pictures.
I had a fun time meeting Shawna and Andy and getting to chat with them about their upcoming wedding in Kansas City in April. These two were super awesome to work with and I'm excited for their wedding day! :)
Cassie and Genare's Wedding was at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego, Kansas with the reception held at Iron Clad. Cassie and Genare were super sweet with each other and everyone they were interacted with. I was able to shoot their engagement pictures last fall and I was very excited to capture their wedding day as well!
The day started off with the ladies getting their hair and make-up done at Family Haircutters in Wamego. The morning was pretty relaxed and after hair and make-up were done we headed to Cassie's house so they could get changed for the big day! Once everyone was dressed we took a few pictures outside before we headed to the church.
It was a little warm on their wedding day with a heat index around 113 degrees and it being the hottest day of the summer so far, but Cassie and Genare and their bridal party handled taking pictures outside like champs! It may have helped that the faster we got pictures done they could head back into the AC! Besides, it being really warm it was a beautiful day!
Cassie and Genare--Thanks so much for letting me capture your wedding day! It was such a fun day! I wish you guys the best of luck in whatever you do! Best wishes on your marriage! :)
Cassidy and Jed's Wedding was held outside in Cassidy's family pasture in the hills where you could see for miles around you. It was a beautiful day. I was able to take Cassidy and Jed's engagement pictures in the same pasture about 10 months ago and when they said they were going to be getting married out here also, I was very excited because it is so pretty!
It was a pretty relaxed day, and it ended up being a super nice evening which was great since the wedding and reception were both outside. We took a few pictures before the ceremony and it was a little warm, but it cooled off nicely for the ceremony and for pictures afterward.
After the ceremony was over and we were taking pictures, Cassidy and Jed asked if we could go and take some pictures with some cows and so we hopped on a ranger and went to get some sunset pictures with some cows! I'm glad we were able to get some pictures with the cows because they are some of my favorites!!
Cassidy and Jed--Thanks so much for having me be apart of your wedding day! I loved being able to capture your special day! It was a beautiful day!!
This family is super sweet and I'm so glad I was able to take pictures for them! During the week I get to watch the twins and every so often I get to watch their older sister as well. Its been super fun getting to watch the twins grow and develop their own personalities. It was a rather warm evening when we took these pictures, but the heat didn't stop us from getting some pretty cute pictures! :)
